Kellie Pickler should be on Dancing With the Stars every week. The Season 16 champion was in the audience last night for Season 17, Week 9, to support Derek Hough and his current partner, Amber Riley.
During the show, Tom Bergeron talked to country singer Kellie about her new album, The Woman I Am, which just dropped on Veteran’s Day. It was also revealed that Kellie will perform this season — during Finale Week, which is Monday, November 25 and Tuesday, November 26.
Kellie recently joked about wanting to hand out the Mirror Ball trophy herself, like the passing of the torch to the next champion. That may not work out, but we wouldn’t mind seeing her at the judges’ table that week as the fourth judge. She certainly has the experience now, and knows what it takes for a celeb to get the job done. She may not be as qualified as two-time pro champ Julianne Hough, but she’s sure as heck more knowledgeable than Cher.
Then again, she is openly supporting Derek, so maybe save Kellie as a guest judge for next spring’s Season 18 so there are no allegations of bias right before the champs are announced. Until then, we’ll settle for her singing — and maybe dancing at the same time!
